One man was killed early Sunday and four people, including two 17-year-old boys, were injured in shootings that happened within a 15-minute span Saturday evening.
In the homicide, a 21-year-old man was shot and killed around 4:50 a.m. in the West Side’s South Austin neighborhood, Chicago police said.
Officers were called to the first block of North Lamon Avenue for a report of a person on the ground, and found the man lying the middle of the street with a gunshot wound to the face.
He was pronounced dead on scene.
Earlier, two 32-year-old men were wounded in a double shooting around 8:25 p.m. Saturday in the South Side’s Park Manor neighborhood, police said.
The men were in the 7100 block of South Vernon Avenue when one was shot in the face and the other, in the head, arm and shoulder.
Both were stabilized at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.
In another double shooting, the two 17-year-olds were shot around 8:10 p.m. in the 5200 block of West Harrison Street also in the South Austin neighborhood.
One boy was shot in the leg and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was stabilized. The other boy was stabilized at Loretto Hospital, where he was treated for a gunshot wound to the foot.
No one was in custody in any of the shootings.
