MEADOWBROOK — Meadowbrook Road is closed due to power lines on the roadway, according to Harrison-Taylor 911 officials.
The downed power lines are a result of a vehicle accident, officials said.
FirstEnergy spokesman Todd Meyers said a truck hit a utility pole along Meadowbrook Road, causing the blackout to many local residents.
About 111 Mon Power customers were without electricity Friday afternoon as a result of a truck clipping a power line.
Residential electricity is to be restored by about 4:30-5 p.m., depending on clean-up efforts.
According to Harrison-Taylor 911 officials, Spelter Volunteer Fire Department crews were also at the intersection until Mon Power crews responded.
It is unknown when crews will reopen the roadway, but it will correlate with the clean-up and repairs, Meyers said.
The road is closed near the Meadowbrook Post Office.
The Harrison County Sheriff’s Department also reportedly responded to the lines down.
There have been no complaints or known accidents in the area, which led dispatchers to think that crews successfully rerouted motorists.
